"I hear that," she sighed, "but what's really smart right now is paying off my debt and having some extra around for emergencies." Later on that day, she sent him a text asking for his takeout order, promising a proper couch-surfing sendoff with wine (letting him know in this way that she would not be extending his time at her place).
