Temple

Temple

Sister Aho (the oldest - the one who had always been) sat motionless and led the others through morning meditation in stillness and peace. The acolytes twitched, yawned, and often snored, but the point of moving energy (Sister said in her teachings) was to accept what was offered and convert it into right action. At daybreak, she took a deep breath and intoned, "Some will stay and some will go - stay grounded and loved, go proudly and with honor. Let love and light decide. Act on the guidance of your heart and do not spread chaos." In the silence, Brother Shenzu's voice rang out ("Camera!") and they all nodded to each other, ending the session. When the recording light came on at dawn, you would not have known from the video (showing so much playfulness) and from the audio (capturing a frenzy of barks and yowls) that the temple of rescue could ever be a place of restorative calm.
