Ilka stood up out of the bushes, having (predictably) found an egg. She surprised Arthur, who was in mid-throw. "Woah," Ilka said, turning right slightly to see the hand of Nimue drag the sword back into the lake. "Nice." "This is awkward," Arthur said, but Ilka waved him off and held the egg up. "Whenever I feel a strong breeze come up out of nowhere, I know I'm to look for an egg," she explained. "It's from Ilmatar." "It's from ...," he began to reply, but she shook her head. "You get a sword; I get eggs." "I get stones," Zhiang mumbled, having overhead them on the path walking by, and turning into the clearing. "The stones of Nu Gua; I have to pulverize them and perform a patching ritual to prevent floods." They stared at him, amazed. "Hey, you guys want to go get tacos at the food truck?" Zhiang asked, pointing to the park entrance. They nodded excitedly; it would be a relief to sit and talk with friends who understood (that the gods were still trying to slip humanity some metaphysical pocket money from time to time).
