About the Microfiction

Once upon a time, there was a writer who realized that she needed to practice writing … a lot …

Always a fan of the short story form, my microfiction began as a promise (okay, threat) to myself to write more and consistently - even if, by consistency, I meant “uniformly poorly”. The challenge was to share it on Facebook and let people weigh in on it for good or for ill (I also hoped this would help me get over my natural debilitating fear of Being A Crap Writer and People Pointing Out That I Am A Crap Writer) … all as preparation for some themes moving into a short story format. Some ten years later, the microfiction has become its own dark and delicious thing and I am in love with it as its own form. As the second book is prepped and the illustrated collections begin to roll out, I offer my deep and heartfelt thanks to readers and co-conspirators alike (sometimes one and the same) who have supported this exploration and evolution over time.
