Krampusnacht

Krampusnacht

She had decided to report from the sack on Krampusnacht, figuring that it was: a) too late to make good on anything she'd done (even if she wanted to), and b) really good content. "If any of you are wondering, yes, I screamed my fool head off when I saw him," she said into the tiny camera. "Nothing can prepare you for that coming into your room, and I mean nothing. The thing hiding under your bed is screaming right along with you!" She chuckled, but some of the kids in the bag were still sobbing and jostling around; it was annoying, but that was part of the unpredictability of reporting live. "I think we get let out eventually," she continued, looking up to see a couple of claws loosen the cinched top of the sack. A red eye peered in; she smiled and waved. "Give me the camera," came the voice in a low growl, annoyed and likely dangerous. "Give me the camera or I will thrash you with logs instead of sticks." She pressed the button to upload the movie online and then handed the cube over, grinning from ear to ear. "I would LOVE an exclusive!" she called out over the crying. The voice groaned, "Gawd, I hate this job!" and then the opening was closed again. There was a warmth and giddiness in her now, something Wednesday felt must be similar to the "holiday spirit".
