In Memory of Lisa Loring

It was gloomy (surprisingly gloomy) and she felt more comfortable than she was comfortable with. She walked on a bit, neither curious nor annoyed, simply observant, but she was notably relieved to see a familiar face. It was not Peter (thank Whatever), but Lurch who manned the main gate, growling and sneering a proper greeting. "I have low expectations and, therefore, an assumption they'll be met," she said in the manner of plain speaking she'd always had. He nodded and pointed left - to a switch he'd jerry-rigged and strapped to a nearby pillar. "You've electrified it," she gasped, amazed and suddenly thrilled to pieces. He grinned (a lovely half-twitch that looked more like a spasm or grimace). "Celestial voltage? Unlimited power?" she asked, delighted by his eyes grown wide and his gesture to try the handle. "I adore you and I can't WAIT for Pugsley to arrive!" she hissed, reaching out and relaxing into an obliterating shower of sparks.
