(Edited from various sources) The last fluent speaker of the Caddo language, Edmond Johnson, has passed away at the age of 95. The Caddo Nation of Oklahoma is mourning his loss. Caddo is part of a language family historically spoken across parts of Arkansas, Louisiana, Texas, and Oklahoma. It is estimated that at least nine indigenous languages go extinct every year.

Passing Words: Chris Arsenault

In memory of Chris Arsenault, who founded and ran Happy Cat Sanctuary in Medford, New York, after the death of his son in 2006. In April of this year, a fire consumed the building(s) and Mr. Arsenault lost his life trying to save his rescues; he brought over 200 cats to safety, but perished with the remaining 100.
