The showrunners met to haggle about the coming season and pull the selected projects from the queue for scheduling; it was an arduous task, for everyone had their favorites and dug their heels/other in. "The Beam Network is NOT a charity!" one lead exec barked as the debate raged on and on. "We need home improvements that will grab attention and hold it! I'm sorry, but that's reality - we need to increase ratings and satisfy both investors and advertisers while making everyone marvel and cry/other!" Everyone groaned/othered, for they had spent some time before the meeting breaking into factions and forming secret alliances to push projects (it was frustrating to think those might come to naught). One of the newer, less proven showrunners took a deep breath and spoke/sounded: "Look, I know it's not much - the equivalent of doing a spotlight on hoarding, but there are lots of humble beings who like the grand reveal we give them, but check out over time because "Grok My Existence" isn't really relevant to them. I honestly think we should look again at Earth and, even if it IS a dump, prove that we really know how to do a reno. If we turned that trash bin into something spectacular, we'd be galactic legends and no one could touch us on Beam or any other cosmic feed." The others were silent a long time before sounds of acceptance/agreement were noted; it was going to be an ugly job, but they had no doubt it was needed sooner rather than later.
