"And further more," Darlene hissed (looking out of the window), "do not think for a moment that I will cut you any slack. This is a warning, not a welcome." She left the window, refilled her coffee cup, and took a deep breath. Darlene felt satisfied that Monday now knew who was boss and she could begin the day in earnest.
