"Are there fewer lights at night?" she asked him. "I think there are fewer lights overall." Her voice was tense. "I haven't noticed a difference," he replied (being truthful), and he led her away from the observation window with a pat on the shoulder. She sighed heavily. "They know that energy follows intention; they've got this down below," he said gently (and she nodded). "But do they?" her mind whispered. "Do they really?" The view from the International Space Station was still breathtaking, but she thought the Earth looked a little sad.
