Space
In space, it was rumored, no one could hear you scream; not currently fighting any horrors of the creature feature variety, the crew of the Jemison was not tasked with testing this hypothesis (nor were they drawn to it as a bucket list item). Still, Commander Saylan was practicing the cello - as a new learner - and was determined to return to Earth with mad skills (divinely bestowed or forced as hell). The squeaking and dragging on daily repeat was causing more and more deviancy from baseline calm - so much so that Houston (and McMurdo, Beijing, and Ngerulmud) started scanning for spores and other biological hazards affecting clarity and self-regulation. "They think we might have brain worms," Lt. Nguyen said, thinking such a thing might be more pleasant than Hour 2 of scales practice (currently underway and bouncing off of the ship on all levels). "Could we blame a homicide on that?" Enson Lee went there, adding, "Or scan for distress signals and pick up a xenomorph?" Nguyen wanted to push back on that, urging Lee to be careful what they wished for, but nodded instead.
