Passing Words: The Neglected/Abused

They did not haunt the places they left - the misery too fresh and the beauty of the beyond so near. The sun did not burn here (did not suffocate), and the breeze was cool over endless green. They did not linger where they had been left (hot cars, filthy trailers, terrifying sheds, moldy basements, and dilapidated outbuildings); they did not cast a thought in the direction of the excuse-givers; instead they chased a feeling of freedom, surrounded by love and more peace than they had been allowed to hold close. It was all beneath them now - the who, what, where, when, how; in fact, the bliss (so limitless and kind) showed them that it always had been.
