2:20pm

2:20pm

The lesser time faeries were allowed to draw for their new slots; Sparkleweed was given 2:20pm; some laughed and others nodded sympathetically (for it was not widely considered a good pick). "It's not a problem, really," he explained to his friends (who offered comfort after the draw). "I know exactly what I'll do!" Sparkleweed was definitely a flit-about who focused on the positive to the annoyance of some and the amazement of others. But he was also an observant and thoughtful faery, taking in the worlds of the glittering fae courts and the mud bog of human existence with equal appreciation and compassion. "Well, what have you done with your assignment of 2:20pm?" Sparkleweed would be asked at some future point; he would answer, "I have made of it the pinnacle of Nap Magic! Taking the invitation to sleep, they will fully rest and dream magnificently, waking strong and clear-headed. It's a choice, of course; they can, and some may, continue to flubber on believing that the world cannot see their grasping after waning power." No one at the top would really care, and that was all right; Sparkleweed took pride in his work and felt it adequately reflected his values of choice and balance.
