Vivian slept through the apocalypse (which was fairly embarrassing). She stumbled outside to confirm that almost everything had been reduced to smoldering rubble, and then went back inside. Viv felt too self-conscious to ask anyone (running, in hysterics, or catatonic) about the victorious party; it was a whole vibe out there. Retreating, she lit a couple of candles and settled into her favorite chair to start the next bit of fiction on the pile. Vivian did not beat herself up about missing the end times; she was a quiet person and the world had always been too loud for her liking.
