Passings Words: Reverend Jesse Jackson

Passings Words: Reverend Jesse Jackson

Souls filled the path leading to The Pearly Gates, their murmurs and laughter adding to the soft music of the place. One of them excused itself from the back and moved up the side of the throng to Peter's podium, asking for his attention. "See here," the soul said (very directly), "if I may be of some help, then I offer myself. There are some at the back who have waited a great while - those who waited in life to be seen and loved and brought in. I'm not saying that you've failed to do your best, because I see you're doing all that you can, but I AM saying this is not right and should be corrected immediately." The soul no sooner spoke the words aloud than all of the bright lights on the path flickered and moved away inside the gates (having done their part). "It's good to finally meet you," Peter said warmly. "So many wanted to see you, hear you, experience you for themselves again; who am I to forbid a flash mob?" The soul was moved and took Peter's hand. "I speak my mind," it whispered (with a chuckle), and the angels grinned at their posts, delighted.
